I work for one of the Global/Xerox cores. We’re keep pretty isolated from a lot of Xerox news and happenings, but lately we’ve been getting invites for calls and online meetings to listen to the big cheeses at Xerox spew their verbal diarrhea. Something is up, but not sure what. We had some cuts in 2017, but nothing since. And we just got the letter about our benefits going to sh--. We’re a Midwest Core with about 200 emps. Just curious what other cores are experiencing.

Well I do now based on what i’ve read here!
Does anyone have the ominous feeling that Tue March 19th we're going to feel the ax blade on our necks? That's the next webcast from Xerox. The worst layoffs have mostly occurred at the end of the first quarter.
Smh
If you read the Icahn presentation he and his team published in April 2018 (link below), it's pretty clear what the expectations are for a direct-to-GIS transition in terms of reducing redundancy of Service and Sales, and stratification of product support. So far, John V seems to be adhering to this plan. (BTW, not saying I personally agree, I think GIS Cores have done great things, and I would agree with the concerns posted here about absorption into mainstream Xerox - we don't want the Cores to lose their small company culture.)

I didn't watch the MFeldman webcast, but I got a weird vibe from the JohnV call last week. We had some RIF last year, but nothing yet this year. We are not hiring, except sales, and only to replace reps that have left. I know on the JohnV call, he emphasized that Global is Xerox, we are Xerox... one big happy family. Something about that didn't sit right with me.
The benefits changes are a real bummer. I'm not looking forward to seeing what our monthly premium is going to be.
I keep wondering what our company would be if we hadn't been sold to GIS. I was with my company for nine years before it was sold to GIS. They were better times. The future does not seem promising.
The Mike Feldman webcast from yesterday was eye-opening for what the vision of GIS is within the Xerox business plan. The Global model that has made us successful is being morphed into a Xerox model that has failed. Who will win?...that is the question.
I'm in the Northeast. We're hiring and we're one of the oldest cores. Interviewing Xerox employees for service and sales daily. There will be a name change shortly is my guess. They keep saying 1 Xerox. They'll rebrand it with something of "Xerox office/business solutions".
