'why the hell did you work there to begin with'.....
Are you sure you are not 'leadership' as you seem to be clueless enough.

Most employees at Windstream came from other companies that were acquired, spun off, consumed.......etc. They were not asked if they wanted to be part of Windstream and thus never elected to be part of Windstream.

Granted most executive and upper management positions are filled via cronyism and nepotism with friends that wanted the big raises, bonuses and promotions. Vast majority of these are filled from people brought in from outside Windstream. Opportunities that most WIndstreamers are never provided. Apparently providing specifics such as the initials of these connivers k–ls the thread but those in Windstream know quite well whom these people are and how they got their job. Never going to gain respect from me.

Solution, Lay me off (please), demote more managers to 'Network Consultants' to do my job and then bring in more cronies to fill the management positions.....its a WIN WIN for all.

If you all thought this company was so bad, why the hell did you work there to begin with? Most of you have no clue what goes on at corporate and the decisions that have to be made to keep 12k employees employed. Real easy to be critical when you don’t have the answers. Sincerely, Not an Executive

"Bet they had fun with that crash course."

No worries, the outsourced groups are cheaper and can take longer to pick up the systems, but they save the company money, that's the bottom line. Why try to fix anything when you can escalate to an outside tech, who will then contact the senior NOC tech that hasn't been outsourced.

Wonder how many low temperature alarms have been escalated to the senior NOC techs because the outsourced groups can't clear the alarm - and with it being 10 degrees outside - won't be able to. But they aren't paid to think, just escalate to the next level. Job well done.

Layed off on Feb along w 50 others. Basically no reason why. Mid management is lost, mostly EarthLink folks. Sad. Was a great company

yeah, they got rid of another CLEC repair group here last year that had unique knowledge and now nobody knows anything on how to maintain that network. It's been a nightmare.

Was originally an Earthlink NOC employee in Atlanta, then got merged with Windstream. Then they laid off our entire team in July 2018. None of the WS guys knew our side of the network. Bet they had fun with that crash course.

WS is going downhill fast. Closing many sites, layoffs keep coming. Not sure how much longer they will last.

The help desk/call center in Saint Louis got laid off. They are being allowed to work until the end of December and then they are gone. That's approximately 15-20 jobs.

I know leadership watches this site and have looked dumb when layoffs get announced on here before they announce them to the company. They are probably just staying tight lipped to till the last minute.

No, WIN is doing a remarkable job of growing market share and developing world class talent while effectively delivering a top tier customer experience all while efficiently managing our state of the art resources.

WE are strong and not one person will be laid off in 2019.

...or maybe this dump will trip all over itself as normal and the whole house will come down.

I imagine they will offshore as many people they can. PC, PM, repair reps, service delivery reps.... soon the only people we will have in the states would be just the executives. Wouldn’t be surprised if they make field techs all contractors.

A lot of my customers are p-ss-d and are leaving for the competitors.
