I retired from TD b/c...1. Unattainable goals set by upper management. 2. Demand for overtime. 3. Embarrassing pay raises. 4. Toxic work environment. 5. Zero care for it’s employees, their success and mental wellbeing. I feel for those left behind that NEED the income and medical benefits. Advice...get out now or buy life insurance for yourself. I saw it first hand as some of the co-workers were under medical leave and physician’s care. Not to mention layoffs. Sad, but glad that I had a choice.

I think 2019 will be a good year and no job cuts will take place - this is due to several reasons:

  • a lot of cuts already happened

  • execs are cooling off as it relates to outsourcing, this is across the banks

  • the economy will pick up further as there were challenges in 2018

  • the rest of the world will start to improve economically

  • the fight for resources will be fierce, human capital will be more valuable

That's my prediction, all based on gut and I do not have any insider info
