Have you heard anything about potential Toronto Dominion Bank Layoffs in 2019?

12 Regional Market Managers were let go from Maine to Florida. Many regions being realigned throughout the company.
A bunch of people were laid off last week–week of 10/21/2019.
Yes, TD Bank NA (US) has laid off about 3000 since the spring.
I retired from TD b/c...1. Unattainable goals set by upper management. 2. Demand for overtime. 3. Embarrassing pay raises. 4. Toxic work environment. 5. Zero care for it’s employees, their success and mental wellbeing. I feel for those left behind that NEED the income and medical benefits. Advice...get out now or buy life insurance for yourself. I saw it first hand as some of the co-workers were under medical leave and physician’s care. Not to mention layoffs. Sad, but glad that I had a choice.
I am laid off from my job in TD Securities ... the reason given to me was location strategy. The severance is not good either
I have been laid off from my job in TD TS, only reason given is current market situation and operations restructuring.
I think 2019 will be a good year and no job cuts will take place - this is due to several reasons:
-
a lot of cuts already happened
-
execs are cooling off as it relates to outsourcing, this is across the banks
-
the economy will pick up further as there were challenges in 2018
-
the rest of the world will start to improve economically
-
the fight for resources will be fierce, human capital will be more valuable
That's my prediction, all based on gut and I do not have any insider info
