I think Mathis got the school fairly cheap and he had investors so not much skin in the game. I also believe he owns the apartments there and will rent out to UW students so he will make his money there. The school will close within a year.

A recruiter I know that had recruited for WyoTech for 25 years and was the top recruiter for many years went back to work for Mathis in July. He was telling me he has signed ONE student since mid July. He said no one wants to leave home nowadays.
It wasn't his money that bought the school, it was 5 million from the state of Wyoming in the form of a loan. If the school fails he isn't out a dime, the Wyoming tax payers are out 5 million.
I have been told that he does own the buildings in Laramie and is planning on renting out to college students at UW. He owns nothing with Blairesville and Daytona.
I don't believe Mathis owns the WyoTech buildings, he is leasingthem. ECMC sold all real estate to a land holding company and leased them back. Not sure how long the lease is in Laramie but Blairsville's lease runs through 2027. Mathis may have bought the real estate off the land holder.
