Sorry, but gotta correct some bs answers below. If you make it clear that you are going to a competitor, you are immediately released. Verizon does not have to pay for anything but your accumulated PTO. There is no guarantee of work. HR has verified for me, you will be terminated effectively the day you give notice.
If you leave to go to a competitor, your last day will be the day you tell them about it. Per company policy, they have to pay you two weeks since its not your fault they won't allow you to work in the store. As a GM, I have had a few reps who have left to go to ATT/TMO due to commissions and pay. The reason we pay the two weeks and not have you work is to avoid poaching of customers and reps attempting to steal customers before they go.
If you have questions, reach out to HR and they will let you know.
P.s. You can work till your last day before you start new position and give you "two weeks" and get paid while you already start the new job.
“Just give your two weeks notice and don’t tell them where your going. If asked be vague.”
You are an employee, employee at will. Not a slave. It’s none of VZ’s business where you are going.
Just give your two weeks notice and don’t tell them where your going. If asked be vague.
If you get a job with a competitor, you get to turn in your equipment and kindly get escorted out the door immediately
U stupid or something?
Seriously?
