How to change availability to one day a week

Any suggestions how I can change my availability to one day a week? I filled out a form.

How would I know if it's been approved?

I am part timer and currently work sun mon we'd Thursday but I want to change to one day a week

Approve it yourself, call in the days you can't make it.

For the person who asked did they have to tell Sears about a new job. Did Eddie, or anyone In Leadership call you before making major decisions that could impact you? HELL NAW!!!! Think people!

OP this one is actually up to your supervisor/asm. I had a co worker that has another full time job and he was lucky that the supervisor worked with his schedule. He started with 3 days than 2 and left it at one day. Supervisor worked with him and let it happened. Would of been another ASM and probably would of eaten him alive.

I don't blame him he got a full time job somewhere else so he priorities the other job (especially since Sears was on the decline). Smart move since our store is one of the ones that is closing he has another stable job to live on.

When I left Sears, I was going to do that. Stay on one or two days and make it work with my new job. The manager went for it at first but then claimed they couldn't do a set schedule which was BS. I was leaving coworkers high & dry but the manager didn't care. I'm not sure what her reasoning was but it turned out to be for the best. The new job had plenty of hours and it was a relief to work somewhere that was not under threat of closing.

When I saw former coworkers, it was as I predicted, a loss with me not being there but they survived. No one person is irreplaceable. Things won't get done as well as they did with you but that's ok.

If your manager asks, tell the truth and if it doesn't work out, embrace your new job knowing you tried to be there for your coworkers.

If you want to, report back what happened. Good luck.

Be honest dude. Tell them you found something else but play into their need for bodies right now. They need all the help they can get at this time more than anything. No Mgr in his or her right mind would fault you for looking out for your future. Explain that you want to still help so you are not leaving them high and dry. Throw out the possibility that it may be more than one day a week "sometime" in the future to sweet the deal, even though that will not happen.

Are we required to tell them where our new job is?

Op here.. I normall do 4 hours each day

Yes I found another job with more pay

Yes I wd like to see the collapse for myself

I only changed my availability on the form.. I'm sure I will be questioned today of why..

I really want to stay to do one thing that I'm the on,y one that does it

Now I'm not quitting so will they have to honor my availability? There are others in my store that only work one day a week and have other jobs

How should I handle the questions I'm sure I will be asked today?

That was my thought as well. Probably wants to stay on just to make a bit of extra cash and see the collapse up close when it happens.

Hopefully it's because they found another job that's keeping them busy the other days.
