Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Pricing themselves down the toilet

Pretty ironic that this once leviathonic success story, that propelled itself to the top of the mountain by beating all the competition in pricing, is now going the opposite direction. It's like they're trying to put out a fire with gasoline. ... Numerous examples, but just yesterday I was in a store looking for a coffee thermos----$26.95!!! Holy bat balls. Went down the road to a dollar store, found an almost identicle model for $4.

B'bye, sh-- mart

You can’t change the low prices always image and try to go up stream. Walmart will never be a luxury brand.

Walmart knows who their customer is. They’re rejecting that customer in favor of one with deeper pockets. They’re desperate to shed the People of Walmart image.

Yeah I was working there a few years ago when corp. made the move to remove all the 'lowest prices' and 'unbeatable prices' banners from the stores. I knew even then things were headed down hill. What walmarts relying on is brain washing. Customers have been so used to coming to these stores for so many years they're conditioned to keep doing it. But I don't think for much longer.
