The next big announcement should be a partnership with a major software developer and should happen 4Q 2018. The merger will morph Predix into a new direction to give an external image of a new version/approach to calm Wall Street. Internally the platform will be sun-setting along with the Predix name and source code. Most developers and support of Predix will be squeezed out and replace with the Azure internal platforms and Microsoft support models. I cross my fingers Bill Ruh and his circle of C-level are gone by next year.

Given the fact that they started this divestiture in February, my suspecision is that they were unable to find a buyer for the entire business and are trying to sell off different chunks. The team thought of unloading the automation business three years ago btw.
Microsoft got into iot 3-4 years later and has better traction than Ruh’s crew. Goes to show infighting and politics of ge. Worse than MSFT, if that is even possible.
Should have bought stock in AMZN or msft instead of investing in digital. Immelt would be hailed as genius.
Build it and they will come. Well they didn't, so much for customers determine our success. Run built them something they didn't want and made the company $4 billion no owner there is no cashflow.
