Here's why I have lost a lot of confidence in our new CEO:
1) He has not made significant and meaningful changes at the top, such as removing the significant incompetence of EVP's such as DZ and HC, as well as the VP's associated with the COP transaction.
2) Regardless of the 'talk' of a better culture, he seems disconnected to the perfect storm brewing with this open concept / Brookfield move.
3) He started his role with a layoff round focused on lower job grade levels and promoted certain people to VP levels. He has removed all Fridays off in the summer and rolled back other incentives; while saying culture is getting better. It is not.
4) He appears to be a 'marketer' with all the facetime 'talk' on INC, but lacks action and leadership such as implementing meaningful changes. Talk is talk.. waiting for some Action. An easy change would be moving the DB staff into the BOW to start integrating the staff, systems and culture.
5) Appears to be insecure by calling any public criticism of the company 'reprehensible'. Frightening to know what he might do to a corporate 'whistleblower' who is "required to call out any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public" (Wiki).
In Conclusion: all I can see so far since he has started is how much he has taken away from employees and acted like the friendly smiling giggling uncle on screen so we feel happy and accepting about it.
Still waiting for meaningful action to 'right' the business and get us back on track. I don't doubt the shareholders feel the same.
…also, look out because "...culture eats strategy for breakfast"...
