Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

The Kaepernick deal benefited Nike after all

I’d say this was smart advertisement from the start, and now it’s paying off. The minor stock drop after the campaign announcement was nothing more than the market reaction to something that was not anticipated, and nothing more. You may like or not like Kaepernick, support his cause or not, but you gotta agree that the guy is provocative and that means that this campaign got to a lot more people than usual. The disagreement, protests, boycotts just enhanced the campaign by giving Nike free publicity. This was a smart move for a change.

The stock price is UP? Great move with Kaepernick! The stock price is DOWN? The boycott is working! Before the announcement of Kaepernick the stock price was up 62% from October 11th, and now it is up around 64% from the same timeframe. Wow! Great success! Who can say it would not be at the same price with or without the commercial? What we can all be assured of is that Nike does not care about BLM, injustice, or any such thing. This was purely a marketing ploy made by a bunch of white men who would cross the street if they encountered a person of color.
