Management Offer

From Schmucks Board

V Team,

Today we are announcing a Voluntary Separation Program for a select group of U.S.-based management employees. This enhanced separation program will afford us an opportunity to find more efficiencies in the size and scope of our V Team and help expedite the building of an innovative operating model for our future.

Please read this message from Marc Reed with more information about the program and eligibility.

We are heading into a new phase as we launch 5G and position Verizon to win in a market that will be transformed by the capabilities of this new technology. To capitalize on these opportunities we will need an even leaner, more agile and more efficient operating model so we can continue to deliver the best value for our customers.

With this voluntary program we are proactively engaging our employees to help them best plan for their futures and ensuring we transform the business as smoothly as possible. I ask all of you to stay laser-focused on our customers’ needs so that they continue to receive the service they expect from us.

Hans V

Schmucks is wrong. Many in wireless have received the offer. Stop posting false information.

They have 2 types of people (for the most part)

management and craft.

If you are not part of the union you are management.

This includes IT, etc

It is neither a management offer nor an early retirement one. I'm 47 and have always stayed technical. While the severance offer is good, I'm not in any position to retire because of that.

Stating that they are offering early retirement to management employees is an easy way to spin things when sending out press releases because there is no negative connotation associated with early retirement, and most folks have an inherent distrust of management, and will assume that they are getting rid of needless bloat who don't do any work. Pure PR spin.

Why call it a Management Offer? It is being offered to people in Bands 5 - 8 many of whom have no one reporting to them.
