Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon rebadging or Free labor-Verizon is getting free labor for the compensation that they are supposed to pay you by forcing to go to Infosys

Verizon is saying that they are providing job guarantee for a year with Infosys. Why do you need to work for a year for free when they owe you a money for the compensation that they agreed to pay for your severance package. Like today's decision from Verizon overnight for the employees who trusted in Verizon for working long years with so much work stress levels and holding heart tight not knowing when your turn for RIF, what is the guarantee that Infosys is not going to do same or worse things to you after a year? Verizon is saying that you get the same things from Infosys according to their policies. Are those policies clearly mentioned anywhere like same vacation time OFF, same 401K, same salary, same health benefits, same severence package when they send you OUT after a year for the number of yours that you worked for Verizon? What if they make you leave instead of Layoff you?

"It is a business strategy. Nothing personal. It is simply more cost efficient to outsource. Look for more outsourcing in the next 24 months."

BS! You're comparing apples to oranges. People reading scripts can't possibly provide customers with the same level of support as people who designed the system.

It's only more "cost efficient" because you're screwing your customers. When the customers figure out they're be screwed, they leave. It's not "cost efficient", it's a death spiral.

And it's intended to be. The leadership of the company and the major investors are parasites, they will bleed the company to death, and s--- out as much blood money for themselves as they can before Verizon completely collapses.

That's considered a "successful business model" in the United States now.

Verizon keep saying there is no package option for the employee who transit to infoSys because their project is customer-facing and critical. But this is not true. In the same project, same team, some employees retain in Verizon, and they get the option for package; some are forced to infoSys, get nothing.

Vz is forcing employee's hand to move to InfoSys. If they reject InfoSys's offer, they are terminated from Verizon with no severance package. Oh wait.. in either case, you don't get the severance package. I know people who invested about 20 years in Vz and they are being asked to move to InfoSys with no buyout option. Not fair at all, where's Verizon Credo when you need it.

... and what about the retiree medical you are giving up if you go to Infosys. And if you go, you can’t come back later and get Verizon retiree medical that you earned for all your years of service. Bottom line is you are forced to retire and because you retire no chance of unemployment. You are forced to retire no chance of unemployment. It is a lose lose situation
