Seeking Labor/Employment Attorney in Tampa

Hello. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Labor/Employment attorney in Tampa? We were part of an involuntary RIF just a few months back...off payroll 7/1/18. Why would VZ RIF us with the standard severance package capping at 35 weeks if this more lucrative package was about to offered two months later? Thoughts/suggestions? Thank you.

"Sara Blackwell is your best bet, she won that big case against Disney in Orlando,"

Where is the win. As of May 2018. all articles imply that she lost, e.g.

Sara Blackwell is your best bet, she won that big case against Disney in Orlando, she's pro-worker 1000% and will fight tooth and nail for you. She's all over the social media about workers right, just search for her name... Her site is theblackwellfirm.com

Also, James Thompson is fairly good, he represented my sister in law a few years back, it was a minor case but he stayed on top of things and things turned out good for my sister in law... His phone number is 813 769 3900...

Hope this helps...

Go get them!

Some of us were off payroll less than 2 months ago as part of a transformation ,,,, I understand there is no recourse to partake in today's nore lucrative package ,,, no adjustment to something that as recent as less than45 days old

Not fair

The company is not required to pay you severance. You will pay your lawyer more than you will gain. A company can change their severance at any time. You are not entitled to get severance. Be grateful because your package could have been zero.

I still think it's a rotten move on Verizon's part.

Even if you are right how much do you seek to gain? Verizon will out lawyer you and what you spend on lawyer fees will outstrip any gains if you are successful

There is a statute of limitations, just not sure of the time frame. In layman's terms, it would be similar to a customer coming back in 2 or 3 months later wanting a promotion that is currently available but, was not available when they purchased their equipment. It would be interesting to know the outcome of your complaint. Please keep the board updated.
