BD is all about making the CEO group wealthier than they are. They will continue to buy-out, outsource and layoff. That's what BIG DADDY is all about. I experienced the lay off that happened in October 2016, and I see that they are up to the same old tricks. I am so glad they laid me off though. I am free of them! People hang in there and let them lay you off. Get every single dime you can get from them in severance, pension and any other thing they offer. That's what the team I worked on did. We were offered bonuses if we stuck around for another six months and trained our "cheaply paid" replacements.

Warn letter for San Diego. 49 permanent layoff. Oct 2019.

It’s happening now in Sep 2019. They let good Associates go during w/o Sep 16 and keeping contractors. They have no criteria as who to let go and who to keep, ridiculous.

Life Sciences in Maryland will face big time cuts in Fall 2019. Managers from Facilities to IT to you name it first in the upper echelon HR pipeline targeted for reducing costs to increase profits. Although some may believe that they are too valuable, they, especially those managers 55 years old or older will likely find out that they really are irrelevant. Sad. Some of the same staff who went to San Diego to coordinate with reducing staff faced a tough challenge. Good people they were then and now but now they will have to take the same medicine they reluctantly gave to folks in San Diego.

I worked at BD for 22 years and learned that there is only one fool proof way to determine if layoffs are coming. If you have access to the conference room reservation database look for banks of all day reservations by HR. If you see that get ready to (hopefully) collect a decent severance package.

That's funny stuff. My Halloween costume this year will be "Dispensing Hipster".

The total San Diego Carefusion colleagues who got effected in October is 102 according to California WARN website.

Most likely we're going to see more outsourcing and annual layoffs in September/October. It's time to abandon the ship

Still not entirely clear on the vision or direction for infusion MMS

Sad to see infusion product line getting destroyed ; the dispensing hipsters are only interested in chasing technology to polish their resumes.

Sounds like MMS is gearing up to be SOLD.

The All-Hands didn't reveal a thing about the new org or what leadership is thinking/seeing as the future of MMS.

A sad amount of SME’s from infusion we’re let go. That brain drain does not get easily replaced by New Age Dispensing Hipsters.

Granted Infusion innovation was conducted at glacier speed & beaurocracy, beware of the stupidity at which the dispensing business likes to put our alpha quality products.

IT has to be on top of it. If they don't get the equipment ASAP, the vultures will be all over it.

Yes it is massive when you see 50 out of 200 let go. Also, IT and security we're completely unprofessional and disgusting in their behavior. Heard someone's laptop was actually cut off from the security lock by IT while the person was in the layoff notice meeting. Time to find other work if you are still employed by this company that stands for nothing but profits. If you were one of the lucky ones to get laid off don't feel bad. You will find it a blessing in the long run.

Total of 50 in MMS R&D SD. Usual all hands meeting with “this is the last” c-ap they do every 6 months now. Focus on innovation, forget about the quality.

This thread is called "MASSIVE" layoffs....which so far is untrue.

There's some kind of big meeting in 20 minutes (tech center - san diego).

Post ID: @6xmz+VoHvxvx

Post ID: @6fyz+VoHvxvx

Somebody who go impacted may already receive a mail from their manager or HR before the all hands meeting.

Post ID: @6hem+VoHvxvx

They will wait to schedule reviews until after whatever will happen tomorrow

Post ID: @5bod+VoHvxvx

You sure can call BS...but only for the next 24 hours. Think of it as a good thing though, this company doesn't care about you or keeping jobs in the US. I really hope this outsource everything model screws them over at some point.

Post ID: @5lcl+VoHvxvx

Ps...gotta call BS on this. We haven’t even got our performance reviews back yet.

Post ID: @5iok+VoHvxvx

We have so many people on vacaction at that time. I wonder how that will work.

by
|
Post ID: @5scs+VoHvxvx

Maybe they will get rid of all the middle managers that add no value.

Post ID: @4ynx+VoHvxvx

Any clue on the numbers or depts affected?

by
|
Post ID: @1rne+VoHvxvx

that's possible since there is an All Hands meeting on the 10/5, and HR is invited
