Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart and H1B fraud, discrimination against American workers

Walmart is doing some sketchy business with 3rd party contractors. Everytime we get a contractor to work for our team, that contractor seems to be entry level and does not seem to possess any skills listed in their resume. They are also 99% fresh off the boat from india.

I swear I'm not the only employee that notices how Walmart discriminates against American tech workers. This is a good reason for others to leave. Walmart's tech department only cares about giving high titles to entry level h1b so that they can get promoted faster while everyone else is stuck climbing the corporate ladder from the very bottom.

The current US pres and congress won’t do squat about this because their big-money donors benefit from cheaper H1B labor. Stop voting against your own interests, people.

Yes very frustrating that walmart hires outside U.S. Numerous times calling for assistance and you get someone from India. You cannot understand their English and it sounds scripted so I hang up in their face while their reading and calling until I get a English speaking person. WALMART HIRE AND PROMOTE WITHIN U.S

This is not a new occurrence. From my perspective, mindset changed around harvest and h1b's and outsourcing was more favorable than hiring American talent. Unfortunate for American tech workers. Hopefully the pendulum will swing back one of these days. Hasn't happened yet and President or congress aren't any help.
