Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

How’s the vibe in “non-core” office sites and remote locations?

Any news on specific functions that have been eliminated?

Some account managers have until the end of the year. They’ll need to reapply for new roles (likely fewer slots than people).

This is starting to feel like (spoiler alert) when Thanos snapped his fingers at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

Rumor has it that they announced the closure of the Rochester NY office on 11/13 and then gave the staff there the afternoon off. What's the headcount of the people who are still there?

We're in the annual "morale dive" portion of the calendar in Rochester. I think we feel a little safer (for now) than some of the even smaller offices, but there have already been a few people here and there let go and there's a feeling that there will be more names added to the list in the coming weeks. Seems like whatever benefit they get from cutting headcount is offset by the productivity hit that comes with everyone whispering about what they've heard or what they think will happen.
