There was a “clerical error” and a ton of ppl went with out pay this week. The response on chatter was they are working diligently to fix it. That’s great..ppl can just tell their banks that their employer is fixing it so they don’t rack up over draft charges. Riiiiiight. What a joke.

Wow I can't believe you fell for the "spousal surcharge" lie. This isn't a tax nor is it a penalty. It is an allowed practice that a company can choose to assess against the employee to discourage carrying dependents and forcing the company to pay higher insurance premiums. The surcharge isn't paid to the government, the insurance company or a medical practitioner. Your company pockets the extra $1200 you pay for the privilege of carrying your SO on the company health plan. Dayum.
There are so many payroll issues to point to. I know many people, probably thousands, that are being told they did not pay spousal surcharge. However, a quick review of your pay stubs shows, that you had. However, Change claims they have no control over their vendor. Who is to blame, both!
Yes this is a violation. If you're wondering how to prove a negative, you have two options. Provide the Labor Relations Board with a copy of your paystub and your bank account showing the missing deposit. If you don't have a paystub for the missing deposit, provide the Labor Relations Board with a copy of your Kronos punches for the unreimbursed time. Apparently Kanye was right and slavery is a choice.
WHD is the Wage and Hour Division of the Labor Relations Board. Discuss this with your People Solutions and I'm certain that they will happily point you in the right direction. Or you could just Google it and get the information.
The Dept of Labor is who you file a complaint with. It does not cost anything.
File a complaint to who? I'm sure there is an alphabet soup government agency for that, but good luck getting them to care.
I'd say keep leaving negative reviews on Glassdoor unti they get their sh-- together. Potential IPO investors don't want to see this sort of thing.
Interesting. CHC has been doing this since before I left and no one has bothered to get this company fined (remember the Wells Fargo "error" that left 300 Canadian employees unpaid). WHD is responsible for FLSA oversight. File a complaint if this continues (even if you are paid late). This is a violation of the employment contract. How much more are you people going to take?
