While getting interview call is good, it means not that much. I have been through probably 20 interviews, mostly phone for last month. That yet to produce a concrete offer. Things move slow.

Despite what's been posted that only the higher levels (VP) would know who click the button, it's been confirmed by many well placed friends that directors know, they've communicated to the managers, basically everyone knows at this point who has pushed the button. Now they're scrambling to figure out contingency plans.
For the OP, without knowing your situation, for ex how long you've been with VZ, I have no way to say whether you should have clicked but if you get an outside offer, good for you! If it's good, take it and don't look back.
The execs got a report on Saturday so they know who clicked.
