Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

There is no fixing this

I don't hate Xerox as much as a lot of people do here, nor do I hate my job. However, even I am willing to admit that I don't see a way to fix this mess.

We have to face facts. And facts are that Xerox is a doomed company. It can save itself with constant RIFs for maybe another couple of years, but when there is nobody left to lay off, it will be the end of the company.

Xerox is as good as done.

If Xerox disappeared tomorrow, companies would adjust in two weeks tops.

Icahn & his henchmen only want money. They don't give a damn about Xerox as a company. Tech powerhouse? b---s---! John V is an overpaid used car salesman.

Misleading comments by Steve B. Yes, there is waste in XIM that has in the past needed reduced, and maybe still does. But he flaunts that number to distract you from the truth - he and John V. have no ideas how to grow revenue either. Remember, IT spend as a % of revenue is a fraction. Our % is so high in part because revenues have declined for a decade. Grow revenue is another way to decrease IT spend as a %. But cutting is an easier way to get to Icahn's goal.

Xerox's IT spend has been high for the company's size and based on what Steve B. said, it was 8% of the overall revenue. That is a big number and that is why most of the past culling have been in the XIM space.
