when i was hired decades back and got a job in the then-Sears tower, as part of the job orientation, they took you to a testing room, where appliances were tested for durability. they had a robot arm, that went 24/7 (i think), opening and closing kenmore fridge doors to see how long they would last. this setup was moved to hoffman along with the rest of the company. anyone know if this arm is till active ? (will it get severance if it is let go - it has served a long time !)

It spends it's time squatting in an abandoned Radio Shack, opening and closing the door on the moldy mini-fridge in the back room. Sad.
Not sure when they stopped that, this is the first I've heard of it. Hopefully another old-timer will know.
Sadly, it was terminated and walked out of the building in a box.
