Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Laid off before Christmas

This was the work feeling ever. The fact that superior management knew a week prior before telling us the day of is disgusting. Sears is going downhill no matter how many layoffs,

Why would any manager tell you before they had to? And just to let you know the only people who know about layoffs are the DM's and up. The DM's find out about store closings and layoffs a day or two before and they call the SM on the day of to let them know to tell the people.

They dont tell you because most dont know and those who know, knew at least a month or so before. They plan layoffs and store closings months in advance so they can get liquidators, shipping, utilities, vendors etc. all on board and lined up for closings or layoffs.

I feel your pain bro, I was let go right before Thanksgiving. Use the way you feel today as motivation to get on with a competitor and help put Sears down permanently. Best of luck in your job search.
