Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

State Street no longer cares about workers

Sorry the job market is not kind to people over the age of 50, most companies view us as expensive workers.

So they prefer to hire the cheapest lowest skilled workers they can find.

Even if you do find a job its going to pay you 30% to 40% less than what State Street was paying you.

State Street no longer cares about workers who have shown dedication, hard work, producing quality work results.

It is a well know fact the error rate and quality of work being done at State Street has gone from an A to a C to C-.

Think that @WMeS68D-ngq made a good observation of what State Street has become in these few sentences.

@WNU4sqv-4kkh Yes, I have heard of FIS and they are located on the same property as State Street Corporation in Quincy, MA, 2 Heritage Drive. For anyone that is looking for another opportunity that sounds like an interesting place to work even though I don't have anyone in my network that is working at FIS currently. Building at custodial business is a huge undertaking but they may be successful on a small scale.

@WNU4sqv-xls You may be right but eventually State Street will lose a significant percentage of their clients which could result in influencing their reputation. This could ultimately result in less revenue.

FIS ( next door to Quincy, MA SSB) is trying to capitalize on their weakening reputation. FIS hiring many ex SSB staff to build custodial business from ground up.

You’re just figuring that out now?

News flash.... companies don’t care about anyone. You’re just a slave.

I sure hope it's the same crybaby posting over and over because I'd hate to think we have a whole contingent around.

You're free to hang your own shingle and get your own clients you know. Instead of whining how unfair the world is and how you're entitled to such and such. Lots of independents out there.

No doubt you do not work at State Street, so you do not see the low quality error filled work being done.

I am my cowrokers just love having to spend 50% of our time finding all the errors and sending it back to the group which produced the work.

We used to only spend 10% of our time having to check work for errors, not 50%.

The "quality" that State Street cares about is cash flow. More of it in and less of it out. And over the last five years it's doing pretty darn tootin'. It's doing getting more return for less money invested, and isn't that what State Street is all about?
