Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

The company will always do the right thing for the ones who own it-The shareholders.

Listen, I get it, it s---s to lose our jobs!!!! but life goes on! The one thing about this company is that it will ALWAYS do the right thing to the people who OWN THE COMPANY----the SHAREHOLDERS!!! Does it feel good to get rid of the audit team? No. Does it feel good to rearrange the Receiving Team and require more of them? No. Does it feel good to let the Accounting TL go? No. BUT, was kit necessary to move the company forward into a more streamlined future? YES! yes yes yes Sam's Club has been very good to me. We will ALL be fine.

I’m really not sure about will we all be fine in the end, but otherwise I agree with @WLc8FVI-1wvh .

Smart system is the GOAT. Will never be replaced with something that’s functions better.

Riiiight... except that there are many workers that are shareholders as well. The execs are NOT moving the company forward because they've stopped listening to the associates. I can't remember the last time we had any kind of meeting to discuss the results of the grassroots survey. I could've told you years ago when they declined to build an online presence this would happen. They were happier building clubs and stores 15 miles from the last one. Now 25 years later they're trying to play catch up with technology. Seriously, the Smart system works better than the TC70s. And the wifi in the stores is a joke. This company just got a huge permanent tax cut, and the best they could do was buy back their own stock.

Everyone get some rest and get ready for that after Christmas reset. I expect 100% from everyone involved. Time to chop shop people!

Ultimately keeping the shareholders happy means keeping the members happy in a way that makes money, and making sure they keep shopping at Sam's, not at Costco, BJ's, or Amazon. And that's all there is to it.

If you don't like that, it is very easy in America to become your own boss. People make decent livings mowing lawns, cleaning toilets, landscaping gardens, or driving people and food around. You've got to do your own accounting, sales, taxes, and marketing like a grown up, but that's how it is. The customer is always the boss.
