5 days left in 2018..

..until a great deal of employees turn in their notices, asking for their well earned vacations, and saying... "BS to CVS".

Your vacation time is earned by working hours in 2019, not 2018! Nobody has earned any vacation time for 2019 until March ends and based on hours worked you earn the time at that point . Use the earned time on your pay stub only or be prepare for a surprise when trying to enter into work brain

I’m disgruntled, but not ready to put a notice in at this point. I’d just hate to see anyone get hit with a bill they weren’t expecting. That’s all. You could very well be right, that’s just not how I was ever told or how I interpret the policy.

Call HR, and ask them.

Hmmm... all I’m seeing from the vacation policy is that you may take up to your full vacation on January 1st, but you acrue that vacation on a monthly basis in the same calander and if you quit quit with a negative balance you must reimburse cvs.

No, check with HR. If you have 3-5 weeks earned vacation on January 1, 2019, and you give your 1-2 week notice, you are entitled to your 2018 earned vacation time.

Then they find out that you accumulate your vacation as you work through the year and have to pay it back if you quit before you earn it 😱
