The WM-Amazon battle will shape the future of retail

I ran into this interview by accident, but I gotta admit that this guy had some good points. No doubt that Amazon will try to be a more relevant factor in the brick and mortar store sales and WM is trying to make a breakthrough in e-commerce. WM’s main problem in that segment is supply, especially from third party companies, so I agree that it will try to achieve a more diversified offering, and it’s likely that it would try to achieve that by acquiring new brand and companies. I see that process happening in 2019 on a large scale. How will all those acquisitions integrate into WM, it’s left to be seen, but one thing is for sure, that process will be accompanied by radical changes and shift within the company.

I’ve stepped up my buying from companies that aren’t associated with either AMZ or WM. Even when it costs me more. I don’t want a world where my only choices are AMZ or WM.
