The next major RIF for the soo to be defunct company will be the majority of support employees. I give the company 5 years or less to go the way of sears.

Are those who step down keeping their pay from District positions?
I WAS district support staff in the west region. Can't say for what position for fear of retaliation, but I was one of many who have been given the option of stepping down to store manager. Some of my colleagues have left because they either didn't want to step down, or because they know this is just the beginning. You're going to see more changes with re-constructing districts, with less support. The current DMMs, DOPS, DCSMs will be taking more and more stores as positions get eliminated and more stores close.
Indeed, this is exactly what is happening in my district. We've lost many key people in recent months, the knowledge base is shrinking and it's creating a challenge.
So called support staff are useless. Bloated over paid positions that spend most of day in office on their butts doing personal stuff on phones, making spreadsheets nobody cares about comparing beyonds yada yada, if they disappeared tomorrow nobody would know or care. Desk jockeys over paid
BBB certainly isn’t going the way of Sear’s anytime soon and support staff is here to stay. Most districts have had quite the turnover in support staff and every time someone leaves, someone new is put in place with more stores and less pay. This is being done to absorb payroll costs so we don’t have to cut more store payroll, layoffs, etc.
