AZFSM has recently lowered the pay grades of shift GL (managing technicians) from Gr7 to Gr6, Module Team Leader (managing engineers) from Gr8 to Gr7, entry level Area Manager from Gr9 to Gr8, and Captain of the Ship and FIST leaders (both are management roles in production) from Gr8 to Gr7. Prior to dropping the grade levels, the F32 site spent about 3 years driving out older employees at high grade levels from these positions. I was a MTL for 6 years and at the upper half of the Gr8 pay range. Myself and 2 other similar people in my dept were gone after for ambiguous, made up things, and we challenged it and moved to other geoups outside AZFSM, after months of fighting. I also saw 6 shift GLs out of 12 get fired in my dept and the remaining Gr7 GLs were heavily pressured to go back to engineers. Intel is not the place to build a long term career. After you work hard for years, advance and are earning a high salary, they try to push you out.

AZFSM F32 is not downgrading anything. It's all lies. It's unbelievable how people make stuff up in these forums. Disgruntled employees that couldn't make it perhaps?
Thank God for that! About time the worthless mgmt is either downgraded or fired. Same people affected now we're the ones who blamed others in 2016 to take focus off themselves and layoff others.
The funny part of this? FSM did the same thing, 20 years ago, and maybe a few times since then. But seriously, the problem can be that relatively speaking, the GL and similar positions may be getting paid too much. This is a giant risk, as an employee. If the company lets compensation creep up, then the only way that they will address it is layoffs, rather than pay cuts or demotions. Not that those are pleasant, but it really s---s to get laid off just because you are making too much money, and the company is too lazy to deal with this. Sorry to hear that you had to deal with this. If span is not big enough, or pay is not aligned with role, then the company should fix this some way other than tricked up performance issues and other torment.
I see both sides of this. Some GL’s are good and work hard and it’s nit fair for them to be downgraded. On the other hand there are some GL’s that are completely worthless that have absolutely no skips and nothing to offer. Just glorified baby sitters. All they know how to do is to wake day shift engineers out of bed with stupid questions and try to make them do work for them on their off days and off hours. I think some GL’s need to be held more accountable to take some of the stress off the engineers.
Good! AZFSM is top heavy with way too many GL's and AM's with nothing to do but bust b@lls to justify having a job. When Oltolleni did SET back in 2006, they could have easily walked 1,000 managers at AZFSM alone. Gthey are stretched thin on the worker bees side so it's time to cut the fat at the upper level.👏
