Thread regarding Dril-Quip Inc. layoffs

Company getting set up to fail

We are already short of money and we still keep hiring people to tell us how to spend are money. If you look at one of the big shots resume at admin he goes to different company’s gets hired on and after a year or two company goes broke or gets sold. After company sells he moves on to the next company it’s a fact.

Since when has DQ been a company for promotion and self-developing. There has been very little training programs for the last 4/5 years. People are stuck in a rut and the only way out is to move to another company, and when they put there notice in all of a sudden a internal job offer is given. DQ only want to hold you back.

What about our board of directors, they should be ensuring DeBerry is held accountable. If Dril-Quip really want to change then change from the top. Change our culture, Change our Managment structure and change the way we do business. The Status quo is no longer an option and a new direction is needed.

Britain was ready to surrender to Hitler until Churchill took over and united the nation through good leadership.

The board need to ask themselves if Deberry is the man to unite Dril-Quip and lead us through our darkest times.

Why would anyone want to work for a company who’s CEO has no regard for his employees. Let’s hope we can get paid out and move on from this mess. Blake DeBerry has single handedly, destroyed what was once a great company. Bad decision after bad decision has left us in a position where closing the doors is looking like the only option left available. Mr Deberry should be ashamed of himself and the poor decisions he has made.

those operators with experience are essential for us to move forward. They know our current state and where the potential failures exist. How do we move forward without that input. DQ must involve all employees from the cleaner to the CEO, from trainee to 30 year senior. We all have a part to play and a voice that’s must heard. We can either resist this or see it as an opertunity for us to improve as individuals and as a global group. It is scary times just now but just maybe we can do this and instead of finding people to blame look at yourself, what can you do?

Smart idea to rid the company of experience, that'll really drive the company onwards. Maybe better to look at people who are unwilling or unable to develop with the changes required to move forward, this isn't exclusive to older employees.

DQ need to rid of old retirement positions and allow young fresh people thru to succeed and drive the company forward.

DQE slowly shedding older people either thru choice or pushing.

In good times, DQ is lucky as big fishes wants only mega projects, in bad times, big fishes need to survive too

The moment DQ refuses to acknowledge knowledge tansfer is important, finding the right person for the right job, training potential staffs to develop professionally and individually, it is setting the company to fail!

Potential staff leave due to lack of opportunity because " managers" think they are almighty and they will never be wrong because they are in the company for so long. Worse is managers are the toxic people with hidden agenda to make sure their life in the company remains status quo!

Please....in 2019 let some credible, strong and forward company take over !
