AIG acquires Ellipse

It has been announced that AIG acquired Ellipse, a UK based company that specializes in group life risk protection. The acquisition was made through AIG life, a UK subsidiary of AIG Life & Retirement, for a not yet disclosed amount of money.

BD believes in M&A as he stated in an interview that the book-of-business you buy/acquire may have more opportunity to scrutinize than the book you inherit.

LOL - such a vote of confidence by the Captain of the ship for the existing UWers.

M&A will continue.

As that happens, RIFs of existing operations will continue. Under-performing books of businesses and supporting functions (IT & Ops) will be optimized.
