Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

No layoffs next week?

Overheard a senior manager saying they don’t believe the next round is happening next week.

Layoffs will begin the week of Jan 8th and continue through February. Similar to what happened in October and November 2018.

Just work long hours, take away time from your family and make sure to copy your boss on every email. You’ll also want to make sure that you ask intelligent, well thought out questions in group meetings and conference calls with VPs and above. If you do these things then you’ll be lucky enough to keep your job and have work from eliminated jobs piled onto you.

Now ask yourself, “Is it worth it?” If the answer is no, then find another job with a company that appreciates and will reward their employees, look on job boards and start applying.

My experience there is that first and second-level managers in the UPC don't know anything about layoffs until the day of.
