We suspect you and the person that said Christians don’t lie are one and the same. Straw man argument.

The behavior of lying is not associated with Christ’s teaching. The teaching that all have fallen short of the glory of God is. Otherwise we would not need a savior.

To then go and parse the words of Joe and Marvin, as you call them ( like you have a close personal relationship) is just silly. Not at this time, currently, in the near future, or current state are all corporate speak for changes that are coming but they don’t want to tell you. Marvy and Joey have an army of lawyers and lackeys to defend them.

To the person who stated Christians don’t lie.... what world have you been in all these years? Any person of any religion is still a person. A human being and all people and human beings lie. We are flawed. Which is why we ask for forgiveness. And I watched every Marvin and Joe podcast. I heard “we aren’t making changes to the LP Department AT THIS TIME”. And ya know what?!?! Things change. Should they have just not answered the question at all?!?! Well then everyone and they’re mother would be on Topix or here spreading more rumors and lies themselves. Honestly, I believe people need to just buck up and move on. If you’re not happy with the company, THEN WHY WORK THERE? There are plenty of people that would love that job you hate and they would work it with a smile and be thankful that they have a job. Did Marvin personally to your face say “you’re specific position at this store in this company will not be affected”??? I’m guessing not. And changes happen people. At that moment in time during town hall meetings, maybe they weren’t sure about the changes. So they said AT THIS TIME they wouldn’t be changing anything. That was a while ago.

Stop pointing fingers at Marvin and Joe like they personally did this. Did you know that major changes like this have to be voted on by the BOARD OF DIRECTORS?? So yeah, multiple people are behind the cuts. And trust me, no one likes it. But it’s what they believe is needed right now.

When you are the CEO of a major Fortune 500 company with well over 2000 stores, you let me know how easy it is to run okay?

To directly respond to the post below: A "Christian" doesn't lie to your face. Marvin and Joe did. A "Christian" keeps their word. Marvin and Joe did not.

I am an LP that has been directly affected by the recent layoffs. I’m very disappointed in how people are reacting. Trust me, my family and I are going to struggle with this change but I am better than these people who are pointing the fingers at Marvin or Joe for these decisions. Unfortunately, Lowe’s as a whole has been “behind the times” for well over a decade. I’ve been here this whole time. Over 15 years total. I don’t like how myself and my peers have lost their positions in the company but I understand the moves the company is making. It’s business. This doesn’t have to do with religion no matter which one it is. Just because he’s a Christian, doesn’t mean that he is responsible to put food on every single person’s table. You can still care about your employees but there is still a business to be run! Why are we all working? To make money. Why is Lowe’s in business? To make money. That is the point and when you run a business, you have to trim excess and sometimes essentials when needed. I know that my LPOSM and my LPOSD were absolutely a mess on Friday. But, they understand it. Things will change again. Maybe in a year?! Maybe a little longer. Retail is never secure. If you chose to work retail, you have to accept that. The business needs change so frequently. If you can’t accept that, then you are working in the wrong field. I am taking all the knowledge and experience I gained from working with amazing people and managers over the years and I am going to get another job. I’m going to keep my head up and move on with my life. Carrying around all that anger and hate for someone you don’t even personally know is draining. Why spend your energy on that? Focus on what is important. If you’re a good employee, you will find another job. In my area, I know many Store Manager that are jumping at the chance to hire some of the displaced LPs as Dept Supervisors and ASMs. Trust me, Marvin and Joe didn’t scroll through the employee listing and pick out the names of people they wanted to “fire”. I agree with the Costco CEO being a good guy. Their starting wage is more than what I make after 6 years with Lowes.

Marvin and crew are like the Richard Greer character in Pretty Woman. Maybe they are need a little R and R (T & A) in Vegas.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Marvin hides behind religion. His only ambition is money. Don't be fooled my friends. Look at his past history at other companies. He justifies what he is doing by hiding behind this. He truly believes that God chose him to become rich. McFarlane is the same way. They both go on and on about their upbringing but yet they destroy companies and leave so many in financial ruin. They bring all of their "crew" along with them and pay them huge amounts of money while cutting long term employee's . They lie , cheat and yes they steal from others. Want to know what a good CEO looks like? Look at Costco. This group of losers will never be like real businessmen and CEO's. They will continue to destroy companies and people. Wow what angry rediculous comments. Attacking the man for being religious ??? Bottom line is he is running a business. A business that has been getting beaten badly by its competition for years !! A business that needs to change. He also announced thousands and thousand of new jobs yesterday. My guess is those associates would feel differently about Marvin. To be honest.. I'm kinda disappointed in everyone calling him unchristian.. Please show me in the Bible where it states running a business is unchristian. Smh.. I may not agree with all of his views, but this is a little unnecessary..

Very unprofessional TO force his religion on the rest of us by ending each letter with "God Bless" when he clearly places NO value on Lowe's employees, OR RETAINING GOOD EMPLOYEES. I am a Christian but was taught to leave religion and politics AWAY FROM WORK. not everyone has the same belief system and that should be respected. A total hatchet man who should have been cutting fat at the top and NOT bringing in his buddies from the FAILING Penney's and Home Depot. Company PROMISED to "rework" PSI for months, DECEPTIVELY MISLEADING ALL OF US, then cut us off at the heads when PSI was a program ONLY offered by Lowe's. PSI set LOWE'S apart in the industry, and instead of correcting some VERY UNSTREAMLINED issues he just fired everyone, leaving the consumer out on their own. He thinks turning Lowe's into HD will be a success when customer service at HD has only PLUMMETED over the past decade or so. I was approaching a decade at Lowe's and was told DAILY BY CUSTOMERS they came to us over HD because of the better customer service. We were all fired just after Christmas (How Christian) via CONFERENCE CALL. Tacky. SHAME ON THE LOWE'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR HIRING THIS JOKE OF A MARVIN ELLISON AND OVERPAYING HIM GROSSLY.
