I have spoken to a large number of Co managers who were not given and still do not know the answer to this. When the co manager cuts occurred last year, the ones that made the cut were told they only had 18 months to promote. The issue is that no direction was given on what happens if you do not promote within 18 months. I am becoming concerned. Does anyone know? At the end of the 18 months are you allowed to step down or just given severance or what?

Comgrs have 1 year to figure things out. Always have a backup plan. With the changes coming to assistant mgr restructure and moving stocking to days there could also be another restructure to the Comgr ranks. It would not be surprising. It is really time to thin the non performing store managers and replace with these Comgrs. Then it will be easy for the company to change the store manager pay structure. It is coming, store managers.
We were told 2 years or your out the door. No severance and no step down. Sounds much like the co cuts last year. Different treatment different programs around the country. There is nothing consistant with wm.
If you do not at least try to promote after the two years they will step you down. That's what was said in the call from when we were told of the changes to the co managers.
Lol because it's all fluff nowhere does it say that they required to be in position for 2 years.
.......and with a dwindling number of stores to choose from, or in areas close enough to feasibly move to, and and a spike in the number of competing cos fighting over these sc-aps, and where are the SMs being replaced going to go, it's gonna be extemely interesting to watch these Hunger Games begin :)
18 mos. is incorrect. That was not the direction given. The goal is to be an SM within 2 or 3 yrs.
