Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Outsourcing

A major state of denial exists among politicians and corporate outsourcing shills about the negative effects of outsourcing on the US as a country. Look at the major drop in university enrollments in technical and scientific disciplines, that's chilling... would you let your kid be a network engineer? also, on the national security side, the impact of outsourcing has been largely ignored. the US is literally giving away its technology, which is rapidly being captured by foreigners (welcome Infy), while US firms reduce themselves to a brand name with a sales force (since all is going the cloud way nowadays, no human sales are needed too). Verizon's C-level lineup is no different... It's time to wake up and I hope it's not too late.

Does anyone wonder why the current administration hasn't heard about this ? 44 thousand layoff. Has to make a dent in that unemployment report ?

A major telecom and technology company who has been publicly hacked multiple times thinks that outsourcing IT is a wise idea? And the stock hit $59? If they only knew.

They already outsource all the IT work. You ever email these people for an issue? They copy 57 other people with last names like "alibabbasenseykamasutrahotdogeeze" to make sure they keep their jobs. Why not outsource? Cheaper is better in the USA and China.

They hire 500 millenial lackeys to answer fios tech support in the usa and then outsource everything else.

They also always have a monetary plan at hand to prove to politicians that they cannot operate without outsourcing. Many big companies due this via accounting fudging. From telcom to big pharma. Once Hans tears down the wall around you, guess what's next???
