Age discrimination???

The two people let go from my team today were both oldest in age.

Is anyone else observing this????

It's not about age, it's about TTC cost to the business. In my experience many of the older workers have long tenure and therefore cost TR a lot more than younger employees who haven't built up long careers with several pay increases.

I am one of those older workers. There may be instances here and there, but overall once the dust settles company-wide I expect we will be balanced off by enough younger types to balance the equation and stifle any age discrimination claims.

Someone in our office is 9 months pregnant and let go.

When they say they’re stripping management layers, of course the people gone will be older.

Another person, I talked to today said she was let go b/c she was in hers 50s. But 25% of the others in the department were much younger.

In any case, after all the layoffs in many, many departments the age bell curve of people laid off will be long.
