Hmm Abby, don’t have enough money or is something else up?

If you know the results of survey, and I really doubt it was a consensus to have a party with no alcohol on campus during lunch break, then you must be some kind of manager or director.

Allocation was at the beginning of the year. The pulse survey went out mid year. Last year we had both the fall festival and the Christmas (Holiday) party. I suspect they are redirecting the money somewhere else, or they already spent it.

Key points:

  1. No one likes hanging around their colleagues over the holiday.

  2. Bad PR for executives to be getting all boozed up, and saying sh*t that can get them terminated, while the Fidelity green police go to town letting employees go to lower costs.

Earlier this year surveys were sent out, and the consensus was associates wanted something different.

Most sites did fall fests instead and will have a smaller holiday gathering on site. SLC did a baseball game in the summer and a huge fall fest, all including family which used the majority of the budget.

Each region gets an allocation at the beginning of the year including funds for the holiday party, and that was not reduced this year. Just repurposed for other events based on associate feedback.
