I'm in SP. It's not the engineers. Impossible to do a good job when whole development process is broken: sanities, SMU, SIT and BIT tests, slow and useless manual QA process. Too much effort and attention is spent on the process.

I mean this is insane, all networking protocols should work the same way across lineups, but there is no unified testing framework.

Development process is the responsibility of the management (VP, directors, 1st and 2nd line managers), who are unfortunately not very capable ((((

Ensoft has been owning some platform independent parts of xr for a long time now and also i heard doing the next gen disintegrated thin os they want to use for subscription and whiteboxes model

They have good people and good support from execs. They also project themselves well with nice documents and streamlined process of interaction with other teams

The sjc ottawa and bgl platform PI xr teams have made a chaotic of things anytime a solution involves multiple components. SIT tests are a nightmare of failed triggers, triages and managers whipping the troops for test profiles always in deep red

Xr has become too big to manage cleanly in parallel with our quality of engineers steadily declining from a peak around 15-20 years ago
