Has anyone heard anything about sams club getting rid of the optical depts come the new year? Or pharmacy?

Photo and Jewelry are not in the future plans for the company - at least, not manned. In all new clubs and high-level remodels, clubs do not have a photo center or a manned jewelry counter. If a club has a Jewelry Team Lead, they are not to fill the position if it vacates, and instead simply run a FT and a PT. That's been known for years now - not really news. Granted, I doubt many people remember that as most people when those announcements were made are not with the company now.

Optical will be the new tba desk come march? That cant be true...where are u getting this info from?
Optical is gone March 2019 it will be the new tba desk . The reason is they will have more computers to run members free rotate and balence.

They never do anything. Can't be making money. Bet there both gone in January.
Yes, we have heard about Optical. The last change in Optical was not as successful as the company had hoped for. I don't know which department is going first, Optical, Marketing or Photo. Heard rumors about TBA but that area is an easy fix if the company would stop giving away tires that do not qualify under the road warranty program. The managers are trying to "Take Care of the Member" as instructed by HO.
