Is there any way to know if your job is in danger of layoffs? I was thinking about some of the people who were affected in the last round and I could have sworn they'd be safe if somebody asked me. They were among some of the best employees and I'm certain nobody ever complained about their work.
And unless something has changed drastically in pay grades, they were not even the top earners here.
So what was the reason they were put on the list?
If you need to ask the question, you are a target.
In CCBU Bangalore, I know people who were removed in the restructuring were one of the best and their salaries were much lower than the directors/managers. They were removed only because they do not butter their managers and were straight forward. All who lick the shoes of the managers are there in the BU.

But I doubt that this number 200-300 is right. Actual number I guess is close to 1000. There are LRs in CSG IOS-XR Service Provider etc too. It is very cruel act seriously, there is no negotiation being done with the fired people at all. There are only communications being done about the Resignation send date, LastWorkingDay, Severance pkg, that's it, and all these are pre-decided, no requests considered.
It’s no longer a case of ‘if’, only ‘when’.

Easy peasy, If your paycheck has a cisco logo then you are or will be on the list.
Perhaps they were not political and were made scapegoats on the list ? Perhaps did not say yes sir yes sir to cunning managers?
