I called gbs a few months back. I am insider and can confirm reality and tax will be outsourced by end of 2019.

I think that home office management should be outsourced. Particularly ISD. Most of them are a bunch of sheep

I left WM last year after 10 years. I saw the writing on the wall. I worked in the HO.
When WM bought Jet.com, they pretty much gave the CEO, ML, the keys to the kingdom. There was a meeting and it was described to us like this: It's in the middle of summer. It's the weekend. You have a choice to spend the day mowing the lawn or going to the beach. What would you rather do? The beach of course. So you pay someone to mow the lawn while you focus on what you want to focus on.
That's the approach WM is taking, even while I was still there. Get rid of areas/teams that distract you from the real focus. I would not be surprised to see more outsourcing.
I can’t say I’m surprised about WM outsourcing the Tax Dept.. It’s always been a consideration; however, the prior senior director (a 20-plus year associate-who knew tax like the back of his hand) did everything he could to stop it. Unfortunately, he and another, long-term manager were fired over bogus charges-mostly to avoid paying severance. If you’re still working at the 8th St. Concentration Camp, get out. It’s not worth losing any more of your time, health, family, or anything else you’ve had to sacrifice.

I agree with the first responder, it's frustrating to constantly see all these posts under cloak and dagger anonymity, always claiming to have inside information on things that can mever be pinned down. 'Well, what they said came true'. Hey, even fake psychics luck out and get right some times too, doesn't mean they're real.

I'll be more specific.... taxflags, exempt tax, property tax, audit defense will all be outsourced.... if you are in one of these areas or realty... get out
