Who says there is just one 'hater'. What Cabelas, Bass pro, Sidney nebraska as well as Cheyenne County has done to so many countless lives, I would venture a guess there are many haters.

Yes I can hear it now: "Hey Joe how's it going?...Hi Larry, Just trying to be maximum benefit for the BP customer. How about you? I am lifting boxes as fast as I can because I only care about the customer. Good to hear it. Well, no time to talk I still have 14 miles to walk in this DC...but I'm happy to do it because I serve the customer. Yep, well at least we make a bit more than McDonald employees, but it all worth it because I get to serve the BP customer"

The minute Super Bass Pro/Cabela's employee. Long time Sidney Resident, Sole saviour of Sidney and grand Inquisitor of Cheyenne county gets involved.

It is hard to follow any threadbwith the twisted logic and ramblings as well as Accusing everyone and everything of hate etc.

A simple question is asked and off on a tangent we go.

As to the comment concerning the individual that he/she/it accused of being out of work for some time.

Quite the assumption and stretch.

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-7upg

This comment is for the ex Cabelas employee who it seems almost every other day ask employees at Cabelas if they have heard about rumors of more layoffs . I like probably most bass pro employees in Sidney has been on a black out period from thanksgiving to January meaning no vacation time is allowed . I myself think this Christmas rush seems so much more enjoyable then other Christmas rushes and especially since Cabelas went public. I really have heard of no talk about layoffs and most talk at work right now is how we can be of the maximum benefit to bass pro customers.

I'm having trouble following this thread

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-6kza

I am curious what did you mean by now that is taken care of. Should we notify the Nebraska state partrol. You sound like crazy nut for all that hate you have. I am assume you have been out of work for years

by
|
Post ID: @Wm19bIV-6gst

At this point, why even keep asking? Just assume there are more layoffs and take measures.

If there are so many companies and jobs coming to Sidney as they say, you should have no worries about getting another job, right?

by
|
Post ID: @Wm19bIV-6sbg

Now that is taken care can we get back to the original question

There was a post making a statement concerning another round of lay offs or department closures.

Is there any validity to this information?

The way this thread has gone I can see and understand why the moderator removed it.

I can see the adolescent attitude is still rampant in what is left if Sidney.

Thank you

If you hate seeing rumors about Cabelas, why visit a rumor site? This is a rumor site. Do you not know that? Some rumors are true others not true. This is where you come and post rumors you heard, is that clear yet?

Hey Mr Liar: You say: Also go to page 42 of the merger agreement you will read where Dennis highby and D--k Cabela both stated they probably could not support any agreement for the sale of the company which would locate corporate headquarter out of Nebraska. SO WHERE IS THE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS?? IN SIDNEY? NO! That was a PR stunt...they both voted for the merger and cashed their big checks. and the jobs left with their money. puhleez.

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-5mpt

The same old mr All Caps lies....When the Cabela's family DECIDED to not retain the majority of the stock (which they could have kept) so they could become FABULOUSLY wealthy, they lost control. The reason the Cabelas family went public was so they could eventually cash out of the business...and low and behold...that's exactly what they diid. They planned it all along. Tommy was the errand boy to get the deal done. THAT'S THE TRUTH and you can't handle the truth!!!!!! You like heros and fairy stories.

I DO , I HATE SEEING LIES POSTED ABOUT SIDNEY BUSINESSES, I HATE SEEING LIES POSTED ABOUT THE NUMBER EMPLOYER IN THIS TOWN FIRING EVERY EMPLOYEE. I CARE WHAT THE HATER OF SIDNEY NEBRASKA OF BASS PRO AND CABELAS POST ON THIS SITE. I CARE VERY MUCH

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-3smd

The following statement was a basically a twisted lie. The Cabela family lost control of this company when they went pubic. The board scheduled the meeting to first discuss the sale of Cabela's to bass pro when Jim Cabela was gone because they feared Jim would shoot the ideal down. Also go to page 42 of the merger agreement you will read where Dennis highby and D--k Cabela both stated they probably could not support any agreement for the sale of the company which would locate corporate headquarter out of Nebraska. NO TOMMY MILLNER IS NOT SIMPLY A FIGURE HEAD FOR JIM CABELA AND ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS HAS NO CLUE AT WHAT IS GOING ON. THIS IS TOTAL AND COMPLETE b---s---.

you have a real problem with rumors if the newspaper print bass pro is considering buying Cabela's or Elliot purchase 11 percent of Cabela's if someone post this on this site . this is someone printing news they heard FROM THE NEWS MEDIA. however if someone post the merger will be done in two months and bass pro at that time will fire every Cabela's employee or this is simply a situation of bass pro buying Cabela's to eliminate a competitor and will fire every Cabela's employee when the sale is completed or another situation the pizza hut Safeway Appleby's the two Mexican restaurants etc. are closing . Most posts probably over 90 percent of the post on this site has been the hurtful rumors which turned out to be untrue. This is a hate site basically for Cabela's bass pro and the city of Sidney. most of the posts has turned out to be untrue simply because the people making the post simply post the most negative post they can think of on that day. I on the other hand I try to look at the total picture and then make a logical post in regard to the situation.

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-3zbd

Who cares or remembers who said what...they are all anonymous posts. Here are the facts the Cabela's family ok d the sale, Tommy pushed the sale through, there was substantial layoffs, and there are likely to be more. And Sidney has suffered and will suffer in the future. Everything else is just bs.

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-3bbb

There were people on this site saying that the buyout, layoffs, quad “rumors” werent true back then. I think the point is that it all those were discussed on this site and ended up true despite the people saying no here.

Most major rumors discussed here ended up true no matter where they originated from.

And maybe a rumor or not, the people I hear from still at cabelas and BP that whats going on there is a mess and people are confused and dont give a c-ap. Sounds like a stable place.

Another reality if you are a bottom level warehouse worker and are late a day of work or miss a day of work you are subject to perhaps tough actions . If you are out at 9 pm to get medicine for your 80 year mother you may be followed around by a city cop to make sure you haven't been drinking. If you are used car dealer the city may file court actions against you if you have a used car in site which they do not approve of. However if you are the CEO or a director and violate the clause which state a corporate meeting much be subject to a board meeting every year and you are 6 months late. During this final meeting it last less then 5 minutes and the three areas of discussion are 1. to approve the sale of Cabela's to bass pro. 2.Select the final audit company 3. get it in writing the 6 directors and the CEO are to receive a 3 year severance package for all wages to be paid and for all benefits before the merger can go thru. More then likely no one will say a thing to you. I think it was four years ago the man tommy Millner( who we were told so often was Cabela's number one outfitter} dressed in a Santa outfit in one of his promotion video to the employees before Christmas. A question I am a average employee making around the 30 thousand and I have given probably over 600 dollars to the employee foundation since the merger to help Cabela's employee with a crisis which may occur in their lives. I really think this is probably 600 dollars more then Tommy miller has given to help assist other people in crisis and Mr. Millner probably walked away with between 20 and 30 million . When it is all said and done do you think tommy is a fitting Santa clause for Christmas or as he always was to be referred to as Cabela's number one outfitter. Or do you think he was someone who saw the top five things at Cabela's to be 1. tommy Millner 2. tommy Millner 3. tommy Millner 4. tommy Millner 5, tommy Millner. Finally if I do not call in for one day of work to let my manager know I am to be gone I will probably be fired. however if Mr. milliner cant find the time to talk to the governor of this state to try and save Cabela's I am pretty sure nothing will be done to him.

There is a fine line between negativity and truth , and the truth can be negative.

There is also a point where one needs to face reality.

The truth is this Cabela's was purchased countless lives destroyed by greed and incompetentennce. A community destroyed (albeit it allows itself to be because it refused to face the possibility that this could and did happen)

It is time to face reality come out of the delusional shadows and join the real world of reality.

I think the problem is you come into this room and post the most negative thing which comes to your mind for that day. I take this site very seriously and try to post comments which are factual and perhaps can be beneficial during this difficult time. Therefore you do not recall the post which are made and I can recall them very easy. No one ever predicted a 5 year time frame to complete the merger . you predicted two months I predicted two years. I also stated it would make since to perhaps keep the company separate on the books in some areas.

It is true that unemployment never hit 59%, Becasue the population has drop 59%, most everyone who worked on the hill and dedicated thier lives and carrers to the company, and were thrown under the bus with the AQUISTION/PURCHASE has left the area to pursue other avenues in order to proivide for thier families,

To quote from a previous post,

He's right ...NO Cabela's employees have lost their jobs and just like he predicted there are two corporate headquarters...I got stuck in a traffic jam by Sidney corp the other day...there must have been 5 cars lined up trying to get in to the empty parking lot.

I also hear they still can't figure how to merge the two computer systems...they think it could take 5 to 10 years before they crack that enigma. And of course real estate prices are at all time highs in Sidney.

You were right ...we were all alarmists

Cheers

That is so damn funny this site was the one who first reported the rumor of Cabelas sale to bass pro or the purchase of Cabelas stock by Elliot. No this was first reported in most media outlets. This site reported the bs about this merger being completed in two months and then firing every Cabelas that kind of bs .

Post ID: @Wm19bIV-3gws

The answer to you question on being a big Tommy Millner fan or supporter in the past is hell no. However have you not been a big Tommy Millner fan and stating the b---s--- that Tommy Miller was just the guy who took the far for the Cabela family to sell the business. WHICH IS TOTAL AND COMPLETE b---s---.

I am a bass pro employee and this Christmas rush has been so much more enjoyable for me and my fellow employee particularly since the merger and the evil tommy Millner took over. I have been very happy with the direction of the company since bass pro took over.

Aren't you the same individual who used to be such a big Mr. Millner fan and supporter?

The MAIN rumor started on this site, BP buying Cabelas. Don't forget the Elliott, Quad move, layoffs ( BP, Cab, and Quad).

You are choosing to believe what you want to believe.

You stated you wasted 30 seconds of your life reading the previous posts and wondered what I was talking about. To help refresh your memory lets examine some of the negative posts I am referring to. To start with this is a extremely easy merger to complete and the merger between bass pro and Cabela's would be completed within two months after the sale was completed easy and at that time bass pro would fire every Cabela's employee. Another sad rumor posted on this site was bass pro was buying Cabela's to eliminate a competitor and would fire every Cabela employee when the sale was completed. Another rumor was bass pro would fire every Cabela employee and bring in 40 employee from Missouri to run the Sidney operation. Also other rumors Safeway Appleby's pizza hut the two Mexican restaurants by the interstate are closing. Anyone who actually read this site for anything but entertainment is wasting their time. Or the other rumor by 2018 the unemployment rate in Sidney would be 59 percent.
