I had 23 years with this company as a DM. Last year heard rumors, did not worry surely they would keep me over my newly promoted pharmacy sup. That I hired . Received meeting request at regional office and accepted as usual. Attended meeting surprised to see Area Hr in the room. I knew these people as friends. Serious faces discussed realignment and that I would not be retained, while in shock discussed all separation paperwork and signed non disclosure and non compete agreement. Arrived back in district still in shock , pharmacy sup approached me with compassionate tone, I asked how did you know anything about my meeting, she said I accepted your job 4 weeks ago ! Then I had to train my replacement over the last 8 weeks of my employment. This is the company . This happened on the same day across the country. Yes rumors can be true. I am so sorry but another phase will happen soon. Pharmacy is the future and your Pic will know first. They did hire a recruiter to help me find a job and set up the interviews. A year later I am still living on savings no offers to date.
This good post is just one os the example of how people are being treated dishonestly and are being let go in a brutal way. I know layoffs are just a part of doing business, but some transparency and maybe some heads up is the least they can do for longtime employees. Thanks for posting this @WnHmhJg-shp .
