Agree with the last comment. However most of the time “they” don’t have to look for anything... you do it to yourself.
Be serious. You are an "at will" employee. That means that either you or your employer can terminate your employment for most any reason at any time. You can be terminated for any reason other than for those pertaining to a protected status such as race, religion, age, s-xual orientation, etc. If they want you gone, they will find a reason to make you disappear.
Sounds Shady , someone dimes OP out to Ethics hence the investigation. If they have purchased on their Membership and payments been cleared, and they have legit reasons for the return. Should not be a problem. Just saying however , sounds like,

Nope... As long as they have all the receipts or it's on their purchases on their membership card.
