Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

None are safe anymore

Unless one is in a acquired sw company still in

Honeymoon phase with execs, i would say none are safe anymore.

Better to prepare and leave on own terms. For people who have upgraded their skills the job market is good now both in sjc and bgl

Why live like a servant to nontechnical managers and directors?

Well said @WmCDoge-1prh . Decided to repost this.

This is particularly true if you are over 40.

My entire department was canned. The only ones who got internal interviews were the lower grade and younger employees. To clarify, I'm not counting those who got rehired. I'm talking about those who got any sort of call back at all. Most older employees just got automatic rejections from any offer they applied for.

Memorable 2018 at Cisco

  • Shaq made inappropriate jokes about a few of our execs at GSX this year

  • Another speaker that told us the FDA certification process was just paranoid b---s---.

  • One of our new sociopathic SVPs claimed to have invented charitable giving in a recent email.

  • The non sociopathic, worker friendly VPs were all forced out.

Now, it is clear. From the CEO down, Cisco doesn't give a sh-- about their employees.

Silicon Valley is a victim of its own success ! High pay is the reason for all this chaos. Companies are trying to cut high cost of buying startups and paying high inflated salaries !
