More work for less pay, same as every other year. That's how it works at the distribution centers anyway, great way to keep the good employees... 👍

I'm at a Super Center WM northern region-no structural changes announced here.

I work in a neighborhood market. We’ve been a part of a pilot program that has changed the management structure completely. We had a store manager and three assistant managers. Two of our assistants had to go to other stores to keep their positions. The other assistant is now titles deputy store manager. All of the support managers had to step down. All department manager positions were eliminated.

Now we have five “leads” who are expected to act as store managers in training. Then we have 6 ctas. Certified training associates. They act as department managers, except for entire areas such as fresh, front end, etc...

All of the leads and ctas are hourly.

This is in combination with eliminating overnight stocking. We are expected to work all freight and the complete the CAP process by 10 am.

Customers are not happy with all of the freight being on the floor while the shop. The grocery and gym freight is prepped onto the floor at night so even in the evenings we have pallets everywhere on the sales floor.

Our market manager also hinted at a lot of changes being announced at the shareholders meeting. She specifically mentioned a huge change to the attendance policy.

I believe that the system we have been testing we’ll expand to super centers soon and there will be a huge fallout due to salaried management losing their positions and having to step down into hourly positions.
