Thread regarding CVS layoffs

The layoffs and BIG changes are coming! HR Confirmed!

The layoffs and BIG changes are coming! HR Confirmed!

I work in HR in the corporate office. Confirmed that layoffs and consolidation are coming at almost every level to make way for the Aetna integration. Last year we saw about 1/3 of the field leadership let go, and now we are going to see about 25% more let go as they decide to increase district size and invest more in district resources which still saves more on the bottom line. Target channel will be incorporated into core and RxSups will be re-evaluated to become a DL or go back to the store. They will leverage this consolidation to move quicker on their bottom performers in both core and Target as well as move on the unlicensed DLs who have not skilled up in pharmacy. So much easier than going through performance management.

The pilot for SMs covering two stores will expand significantly across the minimum hour stores to help facilitate the reduction in hours in 2019. SMs that are not licensed techs will be the first to go as the future requires licensed SMs that will assist in pharmacy and have a better understanding of Rx to support the change in store format with Aetna. FS will simply be considered one category on the category sales report now amongst the other healthcare segments now introduced in the building.

Again, this is all 100% confirmed! Like I said I work in HR so this is all true. I report to Big Bird and he has always guided me right on how to get to Sesame Street. I also confirmed by taking Doc Brown’s Delorean and with the help of 1.21 Gigawatts traveled back to the future to Jan 1st, 2019 and saw it in person. I also found out Jon Snow was right all along...the white walkers are coming! Winter is here! Dragons! Holllllld the Doooooor!

In summary, don’t believe everything you see here and don’t feed into some of the hate filled statements made just to watch the heated responses for their entertainment. Focus on whats in front of you and make the best of it.

So much hate, maybe you need to find a job in another industry . Retail is a tough environment and is going to continue to get tougher with the Amazons of this world and lower reimbursement rates in pharmacy. Any company that has shareholders and reports to wall street always has to show better profit to last year. It s---s, I know but its the reality of working in retail. Be glad you don’t work for companies like radio shack and sears where you would just be unemployed because they couldn’t make ends meet in todays world. Yes , definitely s---s and everyone has to work harder for less, but a paycheck is better than no paycheck. And no one forces you to go to work. Maybe go work for a non profit or independently owned company, or even better, go pick up boxing since you want to punch people in the face to make yourself feel better.

The smugness of the original poster shows that they have not had to face the hardships that a majority of CVS store leaders, Pharmacist, techs, and former CVS President Helena Foulkes have had to face. Lucky you.

Yeah ok, don’t believe everything you read. Got it! But I didn’t believe CVS could make a desperate decision to merge with Aetna and agreed to the first offer put up....and put the physical and emotional burden on the lowest paid employees in the company. I didn’t believe RX sups and dm ‘s would merge to form DL’s... I didn’t believe payroll hours could be cut anymore than they already have the year after they cut it to the lowest I originally thought they could cut it the year before that....I didn’t believe CVS would cut clerk hours from 24 to 4 hours the same week they bragged about giving wage increases to those same employees. How bout that in 2015, Cvs Jesus, Larry Merlo, had the highest CEO to average employee pay ratio than any other CEO.

I’d say speculation is definitely warranted. The exaggerations and misinformation are due to the anxiety and stress cvs put us through... so yeah they should be taken with a grain of salt... but excessive speculation all at once has proven to mean something is coming.

Also, I’d like to punch you in the face.

I’ll state again because I have nothing to lose or gain. I was told by my DL it would be a wise idea that me and all my staff look into obtaining our tech licenses. He feels this is the way things are heading and wants us to not be caught off guard when and if it does go that way. He himself has has even stated he will be obtaining his as a precaution as well. It makes sense regarding us taking over Aetna and the desire to branch out into the healthcare industry further. From what I understand Our competition already does this as well. It’s sound advice regardless of whether it’s smoke and mirrors. Better to have a backup plan than to be left holding onto your d--k when the sh-- hits the fan boys and girls.

True, don't believe everything you read here but, I have witnessed so many of these rumors come true !

It's coming, restructuring, big debt has to be covered, wallstreet watching. You are just a number and can be replaced no matter who's a-- you kiss...bottom line Trust no one, watch for the signs and take care of you !

You can be a passager on the train when it wrecks or be on the sidelines to watch it happen.

Good luck people
