Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

IT

IT had the most layoffs and it continues. Majority replaced by KL / Malaysia. Replacements are not up to par, and no actual official news on layoffs as they try to keep each lay-off in each location under the limit for announcements. This is almost sinful and almost illegal. This impacts business and customers. When will the company have a clear strategy is unknown.

Funny how some on this board are scared about deep knowledge being shared. Some people think we should keep our mouths shut and let people get blind sides when they're escorted out of the building. Maybe AIG can sell insurance to Indians and Chinese instead of Americans, since they're getting rid of so many of us. Managment doesn't level with people, so speculation runs rampant.

What do you expect from AIG....I have been reading a lot of other postings here and saw that AIG is just not worth it. If they want to outsource to KL or a country like India that is the worst scamming people in the world today. Let them do it, personally I knew a few people who refuse to work with KL, they hate those dirty liars. India should be banned from business with the US after all the trolling and scamming reported.

What I ready about LA NY and BOS offices. Should be on daytime soaps with some of the assistance out there making the problems worse with gossip, personal relationships, and affairs, and commonly the one in Boston Cinmon or something, a real street walker.

Just find another job now and don't ruin your health over AIG it is not worth it!!

Why are you on here if it doesn't serve any purpose to you?

Freudian slip perhaps?

This site is not serving any useful purpose. People are generally tired of writing about the issues, the layoffs continue, AIG continues to flounder and nothing is achieved. Those that have written recently are mid-level managers who are still employed.

Some write with deep knowledge on timing. I wonder who you are and how do you know details? Or is it guesswork? I would be careful. Seems you are part of this group.

AIG is replacing US workers by workers offshore in large numbers. This does not align with current governmental policy to keep work onshore. These are NOT unique high skilled work that needs offshore employees. The numbers are quite massive overall. This should be reported to the Dept of Labor. No public announcements are being made as they are working to game the system by capping layoffs in each location below the number requring reporting. Shoddy middle managers are going along playing the game so they continue employment (which is important since they will find it hard to find a job elsewhere).

I have been at AIG for 13 years and I have never seen the morale this bad...It is very sad what is happening to this company.

I agree. Both don't represent what AIG did. However, this business decision does have adverse effects on the company's future and morale or what's left of it.

Why do you say it's illegal or sinful?
