Sure they're removing computers. Bust sometimes, the leave the monitors! WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?N
I think we are meeting in the townhall, but it's not going to be a normal townhall. It's not going to be a pep talk and I don't think we are going to one building. If that was the case why would they be taking terminals off of empty desks? Because no one is ever going to sit there!! In 2008 they took a large group of credit to a townhall to inform them they were let go. The only difference is that no one knew what was up until it happened. I honestly don't know what will happen, but I'm prepared for whatever. The worst news for me would be relocation to mean a long commute, but think about SD and how they knew over a year in advance that they would be moving to a new building.
Except that’s exactly how they do it soooo.. you have apparently not been part of a Citi lay off before. We are not getting a “pep talk”, you are delusional.
I don't believe Wednesday's town hall meetings will be an announcement that the site will be closing. That's not how companies go about it. If they were letting workers go they would bring them in to a team meeting one department at a time and let them go, not in a town hall setting. They will most likely share some information about all that has been going on with all the layoffs and give us a pep talk. They may also announce that we are moving to building one. They may also chastise us for the rumors that have been going around although it was Joel himself who told us, "we may close, we might move to building one or do work from home." He said, "Everything is on the table." All the rumors going around are pertaining to Joel's own words. If they are going to do additional layoffs before Wednesday's town halls, they will have impromptu team meetings Monday and Tuesday. I hope this gives some a peace of mind about Wednesday's town halls.
It's hard to say. Maybe for a while longer. Hope to find out all the details Wed. It's hard waiting!
Most of the computers in bldg 1 that aren't occupied don't have computers either. It seems that after someone leaves it takes less than a week to remove
When our team got in today we noticed the same thing...must mean something???
Most of the computers in bldg 2 that aren't occupied don't have computers either. It seems that after someone leaves it takes less than a week to remove computers.
But with moving servers to another building there is potential the work from home people will still be employed? What are your thoughts?
Yeah they announced they were removing computers from empty desks to “save money”.
Most of the terminals have been removed from the empty desks in building 1 were I work.
Hmm promising at least 1 building will be there
going home to get sleep I'm stressng out about this place to much
I heard IT has to move major communication servers from B2 to B1 in the end of day next week!
Most of the people posting here are legitimately worried about losing their jobs. Please be a little understanding to our needs. Just take it one day at a time...
I was asked to come in on Wednesday which is my day off
Just went to get ice from machine. The plaque on wall by elevator here Building 1 that man with glasses he is the important one you are referring too?
If it is a mass firing what are they doing about people that don't work that day?
Your correct I'm just a lowly agent on the phone. Along with my team so please have a little sympathy for us losing our jobs...Mr B. Or Frank or whoever you call yourself...
Pretty sure that post means jobs that are a little harder to replace in a day. Projects..etc. just because someone is putting ideas or logical thinking out there doesn’t mean they actually KNOW something or that they are some infamous person 🙄 a phone job is a dime a dozen...sorry if you weren’t aware.
Winner winner!!! chicken dinner!!!
You said "higher ups" I didn't mention it! Site leaders down take it for what I stated the number to Subject to change nice try though...
Mr. B aka Frank trolling ... You think?
Hmmmm define higher up jobs? Do we have 300 “higher up” jobs currently?
Our current site is out period! About 300 people will remain when they decide on new location. Still TBA however those jobs will most likly will be important ones starting with site leadership down. Sorry to bear bad news but this is the reality of what I have learned...it will affect us all!!!
Oh I’m sure citi knows that it’s gonna hit the fan one way or another but at least they can try to help mitigate it by walking out any agents they can before it spreads like fire. But of course you know people will talk loudly about what happened or even text friends and let them know before next town hall starts. Almost seems worth it to go to local news and put citi on blast and let them say that most of our jobs are going offshore and let citi reap the fire they are asking for
Do you think people would actually get walked out on the day of the town hall? I still think Citi would want to stay under the radar as much as possible.
Also not to mention that Hagerstown site is only site not hiring for anything in particular but the higher up stuff that every site has that job posting for
They don’t need to leave Hagerstown in the loop for every email, some emails don’t need to go to every site but also in body of that email it gives a day/time.l fine Hagerstown. They could have just sent it to 2 other sites and not have time/day for hagerstown and no one woke have batted an eye.
Or literally an email that over 1k people got that work at several sites 😂 but okay 👌🏻
Its funny how after I post some very official information follows could Mr.B be trolling us????
It told people to travel to San An, Hagerstown, or Jacksonville whatever was closure for travel expenses. Just seems odd.
If they left Hagerstown off of the email it would look suspicious 🤷🏼♀️
There was an email sent today though pertaining to fraud that involved a training. San Antonio, Hagerstown, and Jacksonville. Hagerstown’s was being held in the townhall at the end of August.
Why would they send this after a townhall was set for a closure?
Post ID: @Z6ZTfCG-fio
Mr.B is the guy with the initials C.F.B. he pulls the strings from behind the scenes...he is in global look him up also check on site leadership plaque in hallway. His identity will be revealed...
There will be three town halls on Wednesday the 22 at 1 3 and 5 pm. This is not for just one department but all departments. work from home as well. If it was a policy change, they would just send out memos and have team meetings. If they were laying of one team, they would have a town meeting with only the one teem. I have been here for more than 15 years and i can't remember them ever having a meeting for the whole site. If they were moving to building one they wouldn't need to call in the work from home people to tell them. If they were going to move jobs to work from home, they wouldn't need the work from home people to attend. It sounds to me like the Hagerstown site will be closing. Building two is up for rent and will be available as of July 5 2019 I can't think of any other reason for three two hour meetings that would need everyone to attend. Time to inform everyone, let them ask questions , then walk them out and bring in the next group . What are your thoughts ?
Ok guys word around the campfire is next week higher ups are coming on Wednesday to walk site. For time being that all I can say more to come...Mr.B and friends
For new folks here, there are multiple thrads talking about layoffs, but you need to go to the main page for Citi - it's here:
https://www.thelayoff.com/citigroup
or use this link &citigrioup
Once there, you can also use an "ACTIVE" button right above the first thread - you can use it to see what posts had recent replies.
Also I’m not technically talking about 60 day notice I’m talking about 60 days of paid leave
All departments that have been laid off before I’ve been given 60 days I was in one of those departments until I got another job within citI
