Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Q3 Earnings Tomorrow

Watch for another drop in shared tomorrow in conjunction with Q3 earnings being released. March is a month we should all be watching to see how the Company reacts. I won’t say what type of position I’m in, but I do know that the Company is looking to restructure in fiscal year 2019 (starts March 1st). Hopefully we won’t be seeing a August 2017 type of purge, but something is coming soon. Be prepared and have resumes ready and out. Many Regional and District staff are being offered positions in stores, so this might not affect store level employees much, but most of us have been prepared for something happening during or soon after the month of March.

Comments above are well spoken until it happens to them.

If you support the Titanic great, but get your buckets ready.

I agree on the hours!!! I worked 50+ as a Recieving manager for close to 16 years. I was so burnt out when I was laid off, I took lower level jobs making 1/2 the pay. I really liked my company and tried my best every day!! I hope bbb comes back, I really believe that superior customer service which set us apart can still work! While I do hope some district level and above persons get dropped most of the dept/senior and store managers I worked with tried just as hard and don’t deserve the treatment we, the 880(?) got....

Maybe if the company had taken the Department Managers from 55 to 60 hours a week down to a 40 hour work week a lot of money and jobs could have been saved! I work as a manager now at another company and we only work a 40 hour work week. Yes! There is over time occasionally but not every week.

This company is not going anywhere anytime soon; sure, the growth stock days of the 90s are long gone, now it's a mature company in need of some belt-tightening. If you have shorted the stock assuming a bankruptcy or liquidaton, you're in for a rude surprise.
