Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

AP ASM Reductions are NOT a rumor but factual.

I just got all the info on this from a MAPM who is retiring Feb 1st.

  1. AP ASM positions in low and med risk stores regardless of sales volume will be cut.

  2. The Only exception will be Academy Stores.

  3. AP ASM roles will update to ensure there main focus will be to protect assets. Grocery ASM will take the claims & DSD.

  4. Outside of AP there will not be this mass reduction of ASM's like everyone is predicting. Only the bottom performers and the top performers. Ones who got graded Hi-po or SME will be pooled and moved to Complex stores first. The rest of the talent will be spread across the market.

My question is did they absorb apm’s into apasm to avoid the severance pay. This happened coincidentally when the co managers were let go. Originally Apm’s were going to be cut too. Something to think about.

What motley fools!

Yes AP cut happening and structure toolkit released this week via email to CO/STORE email.

Yes by WK 7-9 depending on geographical location you will attend NHM specialty class on "what to do sparkit style" for MASS closings

And to the schmucks saying stop contributing to critical need..... you hurt YOURSELF......that's a "go fund me " for associates and company will not have to pay for or do a damn thing.....it just won't exist. Nothing requiring them to take care of your financial burden......welcome to the world adults!

Yes ASM cuts ARE happening and large down to 5 asm and smaller format to 1.

Comment all you want and send your " bleeding heart" warm and fuzzy disbelief and consoling points for others to read but ALL are fact and COMING SOON to a store near YOU!

Still posting AP ASM positions because they are not going away.

The AP structure not changing at this time. All rumors are just that, rumors.

Why is the company still posting apasm positions then, esp. In low risk non academy stores ? Just to tell someone they just hired that they no longer have a position?? Doesn't make sense

So where the displaced AP ASMs going after this move? Are they just being thrown in to the ASM pool with everyone else? Also, if so, what areas of responsibility will they fall into afterwards given that they were specialized ASMs prior.

If you want to make them see how the layoffs effect us then change something yourself. Stop contributing to Associates in Critical Need. Walmart as a company should have to pay into that and not us. If a bunch of people stop paying into that then it will throw up red flags.

If this does happen then it can’t be just a few people that complain because nothing will be done. It needs to be brought to the media and directly to Doug himself. That will only get the ball started rolling on getting the company to start caring. The media has to shame Doug and the leaders of the company into changing their direction of so called “efficiency” into a company who cares.

Will us APASMs still be rewarded our bonuses when we get laid off?

Associates are family : RED HEADED STEPCHILDREN

DOUG has surrendered him self with yes men. All his Sam’s buddies

Amazon is the driver of the bus. WM is going crazy trying to figure it out.

Step one: treat your associates like more than indentured servants.

Step two: people before profits

Step three: get of the high paid do nothing but bust you a— Regionall Teams that get paid big bucks for nothing

Step four: stop moving high paid Regionals and above people around to hide their inaccuracies but terminate SM, ASM , Market Teams and hourly for having a difference of opinion.

step Five: make the basic beliefs more than words on a sign or badge. Start abiding by them.

There is not a company that respect their people. I see WalMart going the way of KMart. The associates don't respect the company. I'm surprised that WalMart has been able to keep the union out as long as they have. They won't get the grid done, accidents mailed in and completed timely, no follow up on inventory, internals and externals will be able to steal whatever they want. I hope Walmart gets everything they deserve

Well if this is true my store is going to be screwed

  1. None of the asm want to make a stop even if they see everything they will not make one

  2. The asm dont even want to make sure that their dm are even foin GB their price changes right

  3. I feel bad for the associates I'm the only one that helps with their problem and calls the sc if anything needs to be fixed hell in my store I'm the only manager that goes on the consumable side of the store to make sure they are ok

  4. For a company that says all their associates are like family this is a funny way to show it well let's be honest ap has all ways been like that step child no want wanted any ways even when they tryed to make us equal they still didnt want us

To clarify the grocery assistant manager in the stores that the APASM's were cut will take claims and DSD.
