Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Obviously PTC’s are going to be gone.. I heard that one manager spot will be gone. Sounds like it could be between FAM1 or Grocery manager. There is a crazy rumor that some managers will be hourly based off of pay? No more night shift has been a rumor for a long time, they are testing that in multiple markets but I doubt they will be enforcing it to all clubs just yet. Like I said this is just rumors I’ve heard, I really don’t know what to believe. Club managers will be doing calibration this following week and market managers will be in Dallas once again after. That is confirmed.

This is true the Axe has dropped on 2/5/2019 @ 3:00 p.m.. PTC's were informed positions have been eliminated, they have till March 29 to secure a position or leave the company. Sad day at Sam's club. Most PTC's are the heart of the club's. Good luck to all of them.

I won't be surprised about Membership TL being eliminated, they have offers with ticket monster, Groupon, living social, as well as Sam's social that give members better deals then we do. We stopped offering in club deals and added auto pay. If they are on the block at least they were nice enough to let them finish the year so they can get their Sam's share.

The express does not change the demand at the desk. The lines just move a little quicker. Still the same issues, returns, credit processing (faster with no apps, but still a process), calling for card issues, on phone forever to help member with delivery arrangements. There are a lot of kinks to work out yet but it moves alot smoother. Having the roll out of the new no plus prompt is a double edge sword. We will capture new plus at the same time lose memberships because we have allowed them to shop for over a year. The great thing is that now we can blame HO and the registers. Suggestions to HO, when they implement changes that will effect memberships like the plus prompt put it on our website or add it to the ISB, our put it on their renewal statement.

Sounds about right along with MS team lead. Have y’all seen the new Xpress Membership. Wouldn’t surprise me if they down size the desk or schedule demands to cut hrs
